Enterprise Architecture

CSG works with our customers to identify gaps within their enterprise architecture by looking at their environment from an unbiased, holistic view and providing the customer recommendations in the following areas:

  • IT systems that have become complex and increasingly costly to maintain
  • IT systems that are hindering the organization’s ability to respond to current and future market conditions in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Mission-critical information that is consistently out-of-date and/or just plain wrong

Security is a critical component of any organization today. In today’s Federal (FISMA, FDCC, NIST) and commercial (PCI, SOX) markets, compliance to standards is not only recommended but required. As an example, the E-Government Act, passed into law in December 2002, recognizes that information security is essential to protect the nation‘s economic and national security interests. Title III of the E-Government Act, the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), requires United States government agencies to develop, document and implement programs to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of IT systems.

Preventative measures such as penetration tests and vulnerability assessments provide a view into the hardening and security of the internal and external systems within an organization. The threats of today extend beyond the external world and encompass a need to view security from all perspectives. With CSG’s expertise and experience, we can provide a holistic approach to security and assist the organization in implementing a security plan to meet their needs.

Data Center Management and Automation

Network management refers to the broad subject of managing computer networks. There exists a wide variety of software and hardware products that help network system administrators manage a network. Network management covers a wide area, including:

  • Monitoring: Constant evaluation of the health of your network and devices
  • Security: Ensuring that the network is protected from unauthorized users.
  • Performance: Eliminating bottlenecks in the network.
  • Reliability: Making sure the network is available to users and responding to hardware and software malfunctions.

Every organization requires the need to monitor and maintain their network but integrating the pieces on the network management side has been difficult. CSG has been able to help federal government users and Fortune 1000 organizations with implementing best of breed solutions that allow for integration and implementation of ITIL standards.

Cloud Computing

“The cloud”. We have all heard it and we are all utilizing it in some fashion. For application developers and IT operations, cloud computing will allow them to develop, deploy and run applications that can easily grow capacity (scalability), work fast (performance), and never — or at least rarely — fail (reliability), all without any concern as to the nature and location of the underlying infrastructure.

Providing the ability to implement an internal private cloud with the resources available internally can be daunting but being able to provide a server with resources in minutes and managing the lifecycle of that implementation from provisioning, maintaining and decommissioning is critical to the success of an internal private cloud offering.

Big Data Analytics

Big Data Analytics allows organizations to examine large amounts of data from a variety of sources to uncover hidden patterns, unknown correlations and other useful information. Such information can provide competitive advantages over rival organizations and result in business benefits, such as more effective marketing and increased revenue.

The primary goal of big data analytics is to help companies make better business decisions by enabling users to analyze huge volumes of transaction data as well as other data sources that may be left untapped by conventional business intelligence programs. These other data sources may include Web server logs and Internet clickstream data, social media activity reports, mobile-phone call detail records and information captured by sensors.

Standards Compliance

(C&A/Risk Assessment/IT-IS Audits/Configuration Management)

Customers today deal with a myriad of compliance checks whether on the federal (FISMA, FDCC, NIST) or commercial (PCI, SOX) markets. CSG will work with the customer to identify where those risks exist today, put a plan of action in place and address risk on an ongoing basis. Having solutions to govern and alert for violations to security standards allows for constant checks and balances to the ever changing IT environment.

Program/Project Management Support

CSG provides high level program/project management delivered by industry veterans with real world experience and industry standard certifications (PMP). We strive to support customer requirements and work in tandem with the technical and management teams to architect, implement and manage programs/projects with quality and within budgetary restraints.
